Getting Started

Understand contexts

How Palaces, Locations, and Memories organize your context.

Unimatrix organizes memory hierarchically instead of as one flat log: Palaces are the top-level containers (e.g. "Work," "Side Project X"), Locations are sub-sections within a Palace (e.g. "Architecture Decisions," "Meeting Notes"), and Memories are the individual pieces of stored context filed under a Location.

This structure keeps long-running work organized and lets you (or your AI client) list and search within a specific Palace or Location instead of scanning everything you have ever saved.

You do not need to set this up in advance — Palaces and Locations can be created on the fly, either from the dashboard or by asking your AI client to file a memory under a new one.

Good practice: keep Palaces broad (by project or area of your life) and Locations specific (by topic), so retrieval stays fast and relevant as your memory vault grows.
